As you prepare to join us on campus, there are a few important steps to complete along the way. Each one moves you closer to your first day, your first class, and your future as a Hornet.

We’ve organized everything you need into a simple checklist below—so you can stay focused, stay on track, and move forward with confidence.

2030 checklist

  • What this means:
    We need your final, official high school and/or college transcripts to complete your enrollment record.

    Action Items:

    • Request final transcripts from your high school and/or previous institution

    • Ensure they are sent directly to HSSU

  • What this means: Your enrollment is not complete until your required fees are submitted.

    Action Items:

    • Pay your:

      • $100 Enrollment Deposit

      • $75 Orientation Fee

      • $175 Housing Application Fee (if living on campus)

  • What this means:
    Financial aid helps make your education affordable—and must be completed early.

    Action Items:

    • Apply for FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov

      • Use HSSU School Code: 002466

    • Review your financial aid award letter

    • Accept your awards in your student portal

  • What this means:
    If you did not submit ACT/SAT scores, you’ll need to complete placement testing.

    Action Items:

    • Contact Admissions at (314) 340-3300 or Admissions@hssu.edu to schedule

    • OR request a virtual test:

      • Complete the Accuplacer Voucher Request Form

      • Email to Testappt@hssu.edu

      • Receive instructions within 3–5 business days

    • Review instructions for in-person testing if preferred

  • What this means:
    Orientation prepares you for success—academically, socially, and personally.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Learn academic expectations and support services

    • Review your fall class schedule with Academic Success

    • Explore student organizations and campus life

    • Meet your Hornet community

    Action Item:

    • Select and attend one required session

  • What this means:
    Secure your space on campus early—housing is limited.

    Action Items:

    • Submit your housing application via eRezLife

    • Complete by June 1, 2026

    • Note: Applications submitted after May 1 are not guaranteed housing

  • What this means:
    We need your health and academic documentation before move-in.

    Action Items:

    • Submit health forms to HealthServices@hssu.edu (if living on campus)

    • Submit:

      • AP/IB exam scores

      • Dual Enrollment transcripts

  • What this means:
    Your account must be settled before the semester begins.

    Action Items:

    • Pay your bill OR

    • Set up a payment plan

    • Complete this through your MYHSSU student portal

  • You’re officially on your way—now it’s time to show up.

    Action Items:

    • Complete Move-In (Residential Students)

    • Complete Check-In (Commuter Students)

    • Attend Welcome Week activities

  • Stay informed, engaged, and part of the HSSU community.

    • Follow HSSU on social media

    • Check your email regularly for updates
