Ms. Gianna Shockley, MA, PLPC is the ADA Coordinator at Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU), where she leads digital and physical accessibility efforts in support of a diverse student population. With more than 15 years of experience in case management and nonprofit leadership in St. Louis, she has a strong track record of supporting young people through complex transitions, particularly through college-readiness programs focused on at-risk and first-generation students. As a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), her work is informed by research on the mental health and resilience of Black and Brown queer youth, with a focus on how identity and equity shape educational outcomes. She collaborates with faculty and staff to implement inclusive practices that remove barriers to student persistence and degree completion. Ms. Shockley holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
